So You Caught Your Dog Eating Raccoon Poo?

What are the dangers of a dog eating Raccoon Poo ?

It is common for the Raccoon to carry a roundworm named Baylisascaris procyonis.
This roundworm has been known to cause larval migration through the human brain
thus making this parasite a human concern as well.  Dogs can become exposed to this
worm via the eggs in the environment. The dog can also serve as a vector of infective eggs.
It is recommended to keep pets away from areas of heavy raccoon populations and notify
your local veterinarian if you think your dog has been exposed to raccoon poo.

Pawfully Yours. ☺
